Department of Radiology, Dr. S.C. Government Medical College is one of the busiest department with nearly 200- 300 X-rays, 150-200 Ultrasonographies (USG) and 30-35 CT Scans per day.
Department of Radiology has evolved considerably in recent years with new high-end X-ray, USG and CT scan machines.
Department of Radiology is an important department involved in diagnosis of the various ailments in general population. Each and every clinical department needs this department’s modalities to diagnose the illness so that treatment of the patient can be planned.
This department is trying to get a high end MRI machine which is very useful tool for diagnosing various illnesses and for availing Post-graduate seat(s) as per MCI norms.
In this department training is given to Undergraduate students regarding various modalities available in this department and use of various modalities for diagnosing various diseases.
It is mandatory to complete 1 year internship after passing MBBS. Internship includes 15 days of training under the department of Radiology. During this period the interns are asked to observe and assist the working faculties in this department in various radiological procedures.
Postgraduate- Teaching training and Research
This college is not having PG course in this department. However, the senior residents along with house-officers are given advanced training in various modalities of this department by the faculty members.

This department has four X-ray machines of which one is installed in the OPD premises during the OPD hours
Other machines are installed in the radiology department to cater the IPD patients and to perform various radiological procedures.
There are 9 technicians and 3 assistant technicians who work in different shifts to smoothly run this department.
This department is situated in the radiology department. It has two USG machines which are used for OPD as well as IPD patients
